Within the contract signed between the TSD company of systems programming and the National Institute for the treatment of tumors Sabratha (the largest institute specialized in the treatment of tumors in Libya) the main courses has Launched for the different employees in the institute in the field of medical information management systems, it has also been discussed a preliminary study of the status quo with regard to the use of Medical information systems in the Institute and it was reviewed through the following:
• The absence of any computerized mechanism for the exchange of information between the different sections, other than traditional methods.
• The existence of major effort was inefficient and it’s difficult that there is a direct and tangible benefit to it by the management of medical records, medical archive and the rest of the sections.
• Poor medical documentation in various departments and the doctors lack the commitment to enter medical data, causing a complaint by Archives Division in the preparation of reports.
• The loss of some medical files because of the human repeated error.
• There is dependence on the computer to print reports through customized printing office software.
• lack of knowledge by the workers in the medical records management department or IT department with the fundamentals of medical information systems.
• The existence of a local network are very useful in the execution speed but you need to evaluate and improve the management.
• Change in some of the infrastructure must be taken into account in any operation on the network and the level of implementation.
• Difficulty in the search of old documents or relatively new because of the lack of a manual search.
